A weekend trip does not need an airport
One train, a nearby town, and a whole afternoon with no particular agenda.

I used to save the word “travel” for journeys that needed months of planning. Then I took a morning train to a town an hour away.
I checked the return timetable, packed water and a book, and picked two places I wanted to see. The rest could wait.
There was a library, a riverside walk, and lunch in a small café. Nothing spectacular happened. It was a lovely day.
You do not have to go far to pay attention differently.
Now I keep a map of places within a couple of hours. Not a list to complete. Just possibilities for a Saturday when I want a different view.
