A better question than “is that true?”

A better question than “is that true?”

I was sure my balcony got the most sunlight in the afternoon. Then I took a photograph every two hours for a week.

It turned out my memory had picked a particularly nice afternoon and quietly promoted it into a general rule.

This was not serious research. But it was a useful reminder that an impression and an observation are different things.

“I do not know yet” can be the beginning of a very good conversation.

I keep a list of ordinary questions now. Why does that shadow move that way? What changes when the weather is cloudy? No deadlines. Just a reason to pay attention.
